TRANSPORTATION AND ACCOMMODATION
Some Notes on Transportation and Accommodation
The conference venue is located in a somewhat rural area near the Kitafuji commons on the outskirts of Fujiyoshida City (whose train station is known as Fujisan Station, or Mount Fuji Station). Although we will be providing most of the transportation that participants will need, those who want to spend additional time at Mount Fuji and to travel on their own will find that local public transportation is excellent, and of course in Japan the trains (and buses) run on time. As the focal point of religious pilgrimages for centuries before Mount Fuji became a destination for mountain climbing and modern tourism, the communities of the Mount Fuji area are accustomed to hosting visitors and providing lodging. Many kinds of accommodations are available that range widely in price and type, from the lavish tourist hotels one might expect, to more modest ones, and from Japanese-style inns to Western-style hotels. We will provide a list of available lodgings with descriptions, as well as guidance on choosing accommodations. The Kitafuji communities hope you will enjoy your stay in this wonderful place.
Venue Access
International flights into Tokyo usually use Narita Airport, located to the east of Tokyo. Some participants may find themselves able to use flights that land at Haneda Airport (quite near downtown Tokyo and useful train stations) or even at Fuji Shizuoka Airport. We will supply more detailed information later. The maps shown here illustrate some of the combinations (yes, there are more) of Narita Express (N'EX) trains and Fuji Kyuko express buses that enable one to get from Narita Airport to Fujiyoshida City or Lake Yamanaka in four hours.
Airport Shuttles (UPDATED)
Airport Shuttle buses for the exclusive use of conference participants will provide direct transport from Narita Airport to the conference venue on June 2 and 3.

- The service counters will be open during the operation hours of 2nd and 3rd of June at Arrivals' Lobby (1F) of both Terminals 1 and 2 of Narita Airport. (If you are flying to Narita, you will arrive at either of the terminals.) Those who want to use the shuttle bus must go to the counter first (LOCATION MAP OF COUNTERS), complete reservation, and pay the fare before using the service.

Daily bus service among the conference venues and the hotels will be provided for the registered participants on June 4, 5, and 7.

Hotel Accommodations
There are two types of hotel accommodations: (1) the official hotel accommodations listed below that can be reserved and paid online via Nippon Travel Agency's website after creating a hotel accommodation ID (different from your User Account) and (2) inexpensive accommodation that can be arranged by the organizer (at a rate of JP¥5,000 per night, See below).
Accommodation Reservation from 2nd to 8th June can be made from this site. Please note that the breakfast is not included.

For participants of the Kitafuji conference, the organizer has prepared the special accommodation plan; JP¥ 5,000 per one night without meals.
If you would like to stay at such inexpensive accommodation, please log into the User Site and send us a request by answering the "Inexpensive Accommodation" part of the QUESTIONNAIRE, located at the bottom of the Registration page.

If you would like to stay in the same accommodation with acquaintances, please mention the name of that person and ID if possible, in the remarks column.
The arrangement of the accommodation will be made on a first-come and first-served basis by the organizer at a later stage. Please kindly note that some accommodation may have the following conditions.
- - No choice of room style: Japanese-style or Western-style
- - Restricted use of the Internet
- - Restroom shared with other guests
- - Bathing facilities shared with other guests
We will contact you with the accommodation details (accommodation name, address, room type, phone number, etc.) by email when arranged.
Most of the inexpensive accommodation are located at Fujiyoshida or Oshino or Yamanakako Area.
The room has a beautiful view of the Kitafuji.
