REGISTRATION
Below you will find instructions about registering for basic participation in the conference, the selection of additional options, and making payment on line.

*Each of the options has a fixed limit on seating or participation, so we will have to close the workshops, banquet, field trips, and post-conference field trips when they fill even before the deadline (May 15). However, we will keep a waiting list in case vacancies appear later, so even after an event fills, please let us know if you are interested in an event.
Registration Fees
Each participant’s registration fee will depend on
- (1) whether one is an IASC member,
- (2) when one registers (early registration before April 15 is discounted, registration between April 15 and May 15 is at the standard rate, and thereafter onsite registration is the most expensive), and
- (3) one’s Annual Income, as described below.
Costs are described in both Japanese yen (JP¥) and US dollars (US$), at the current exchange rate of about JP¥90= US$1.
Membership of IASC
One of the benefits of membership in the IASC is discounts for registration at meetings, so IASC members will pay a lower registration fee than non-members (and non-members may join IASC at the time of registration to receive the lower rate). To make sure that your IASC membership is current and effective at the time of the Kitafuji conference, please go to the IASC web site to check your membership status before registration. If your membership has expired or if you have not become a member yet, you will want to pay your IASC member dues. Members will be able to obtain their IASC membership ID numbers from the IASC site, which they will then use during registration for the Kitafuji conference.
Annual Income Categories
There are three categories of income, shown below
- - Income level A: less than US$ 20,000
- - Income level B: between US$20,000 and US$ 40,000
- - Income level C: more than US$ 40,000

The registration fee covers:

Registration for Accompanying Persons
Accompanying persons may register as well if they wish, for a basic fee of JP¥10,000 (US$111) per person that does not include attendance at sessions but does cover:

Additional Options (not included in basic registration fee)

Payment
Payment shall be made in Japanese Yen by credit card (Visa/Master/Diners/Amex/JCB).
Cancellation
Those who have paid their registration fees but find that they cannot attend may cancel and receive refunds according to the following schedule:

If you have not yet created an account for the conference website, you can register and create a User Account at the same time. Simply click the button below and fill in and transmit the form. (If you have already created a User Account, re-entering your profile data in the User Site as you register will update your profile data in the User Site.)
Visa
If you need a visa to visit Japan, you should begin procedures to apply for a visa as soon as possible. It can take more than month to obtain a visa, including time for preparation, sending the completed application through the mails, processing within the Japanese government, and delivering the visa to you. There are no services that speed up this process (no "rush" processing), so the best way to ensure smooth and effective handling of the application is to make sure it is complete. We can provide assistance at no charge to registered participants, to make sure that you provide all necessary information. We send the completed application stamped with the official Seal of the Conference Organizers in Japan, thus verifying that you are applying for a visa in order to attend IASC2013 at Kitafuji. Simply click on the link provided HERE and we will provide you with an event code (for Kitafuji Conference) to enter a site where you can fill in information about yourself and about your planned travel route and locations while in Japan. When we have ascertained that your application is complete, we will send the document to your address by air so that you can submit all the necessary docments to the Japanese diplomatic mission nearest you.
